In the bustling Bekkjarvik harbour you can moor your boat to the steps up to Bekkjarvik Torg, a magnificent shopping centre rich in tradition. The shopping centre occupies the buildings that were once a cooperage, a fishing net repair workshop and where herring was salted. The “Torget” today contains all of 13 shops with groceries, clothes, gifts, flowers, toys, sports gear, shoes, chandlery and fishing tackle, furniture, optician, photo/frame workshop, hairdresser, spa and skincare salon and tavern. There is also a surgery, chiropractor, library, business consultancy and solicitors, ATM, post office and pharmacy. Bekkjarvik Torg is centrally located in a transport hub with a bus stop, fast ferry and local ferry terminals.
